Best Practices in DNS/DHCP and IP Address Management
Overview IP Addresses, Domain Name Services (DNS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). Together, these three mechanisms make it possible to locate everything one needs on the Internet, including own computer. Each system presents a means to improve performance and maintain order on network. DNS keeps track of the names and the IP addresses associated with each device on IP network. DIICP assigns IP addresses to devices as they connect to the network, and helps one makes the most of the scarce IP address space. IP address management tools and practices ensure the integrity and reliability of IP network.
