FedEx Extends Access to Shipping Services for Increased Customer Productivity and Loyalty

Overview FedEx, the global shipping giant, found success in making shipping easy and straightforward for customers. But ever-present competition meant that the company needed to find additional ways to bring value to customers, especially small businesses that generally don't have dedicated shipping departments. Seeking to extend its reach beyond traditional brick-and-mortar stores and its full-featured Web site, FedEx decided to provide convenient, easy-to-use access points to its shipping services right on its customers' desktops. Because so many business users work with Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 messaging and collaboration client, FedEx decided that integrating its shipping services with that application would help customers improve productivity.
