Anti-Lock Brake Systems Manufacturer Grants Employees Remote Access to Critical Systems Via VeriSign Unified Authentication

Overview Staff on business trips or vacation needed remote access to Shanghai Automotive Brake Systems Co., Ltd. (SABS)'s critical applications - an activity not permitted by the existing security system. SABS chose to implement VeriSign Unified Authentication and today, many employees have been given One-Time Password (OTP) tokens and can access SABS's SAP R/3 enterprise resource planning system, as well as the company's intranet when they are away from the office. The challenge was that traveling staff needed secure remote access to the company's intranet and critical ERP systems. SABS deployed VeriSign Unified Authentication that is cost effective and has minimal impact on SABS's existing systems - imposing only a nominal amount of incremental network traffic.
