Nortel on Nortel: An Anti-Spam Solution That Works

Overview On any given workday, Nortel IT blocks 97-99% of incoming spam emails, which amounts to between 300,000 to 1.1 million unwanted messages and includes approximately 55,000 messages with malicious attachments. The challenge was to identify and filter out spam from 400,000 to 1.4 million emails sent to employees on any given day and to ensure legitimate emails arrive at their intended destination. It deployed an in-house, tailored, multilayered solution based on spam expertise and utilized open-source tools.
