Copy Number Analysis With Illumina DNA Analysis BeadChips
Overview The ability to perform statistical tests on large population data sets allows for the determination of those regions of copy number and/or allelic variation which are generally in common in the disease state versus the normal state. This is important when looking for primary events in a disease. If there is a genetic causal relationship, then there should be common events across multiple individuals, and secondary or unassociated copy number variation regions may not be consistent in the case group and therefore not statistically significant. Copy number analysis in JMP Genomics allows for the analysis of these large case-control-type designs using whole-genome Illumina BeadChip arrays.
