Overview The Sun Fire X4600 is an 8-socket dual core AMD processor server that offers excellent performance for SAS applications. Sun and SAS have published performance results of SAS Intelligence Storage technologies running on the Sun Fire X45001, a 2-socket dual core AMD server that includes 24 TB of physical storage. At the request of a customer, the Sun Solution Center for SAS2 has deployed and tuned an environment so that SAS and Sun could study the performance of the Sun Fire X4600 when working in conjunction with SAS Intelligence Storage technologies.
