Migrating Oracle e-Business Suite 11i From Sun Solaris to an HP-UX and Linux Split Configuration

Overview This white paper describes the procedures for migrating an Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) 11i application and database tiers from a Sun Microsystems SPARC-based server running Solaris to a split configuration using HP Integrity and HP BladeSystem servers. The target configuration leverages the mission-critical strengths of the HP-UX operating system and the HP Integrity server to host the all-important EBS database that business depends on. Using HP ProLiant BladeSystem x86 servers with the Linux operating system for the EBS application tier layer enables a high-performance solution at a very cost effective price point.
