Daewoo Securities Protects Confidential HR Data From Internal Security Breaches
Overview Daewoo Securities is one of South Korea's leading brokerage firms, offering investment, banking, and brokerage services to retail and corporate clients. It has offices in Hong Kong, London, New York, Tokyo, and Ho Chi Minh City. The firm was particularly concerned about protecting its HR database, which could be safeguarded by controlling access privileges for IT administrators and super users. To protect confidential data from internal and external threats, Daewoo Securities implemented two of Oracle's database security solutions. Oracle Database Vault prevents human resources data stored in Oracle databases from being accessed by unauthorized users, while Oracle Advanced Security automatically encrypts data to further safeguard information.
