Law Firm Fosters Collaboration and Lowers Costs With Integrated Tools Investment
Overview Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld needed a new approach to its technology environment. The law firm wanted to improve organizational control of its IT assets, along with the business processes and the technology solutions that supported them. Akin Gump decided to embrace an integrated environment made up of Microsoft products and invested in a Microsoft Enterprise Client Access License Suite agreement, saving U.S.$60,000 in licensing costs alone. The firm is implementing a new portal solution based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, with which attorneys will collaborate throughout the firm and across the firewall with clients. The increased reliability and integration that the improved collaboration tools provide will help attorneys and staff better serve and support the firm's clients.
