Big Gains, Small Footprint With HP BladeSystem, Microsoft Windows Essential Business Server

Overview Newman Martin and Buchan LLP (NMB), insurance and reinsurance brokers based in London, have 150 employees and are no exception. One challenge is that NMB's workforce is highly mobile. Eighty people on the staff of about 150 carry BlackBerry smartphones. But getting remote access to the company's desktops was difficult. The company needed to update Active Directory and its messaging platform, and there were a number of HP/Compaq servers that were out of maintenance and it was time to upgrade them. The most efficient upgrade, The Full Circle team suggested, would be to a new product called Microsoft Windows Essential Business Server (EBS) running on HP ProLiant server infrastructure.
