Security Management White Papers

More Security, Less Cost

Overview The best colleges and universities share an ambition to use IT to improve the education offered to students and to provide better facilities to faculty and staff. Typical projects include campus-wide wireless networks, single sign-on, online portals and intranets, remote working and IT-enabled lecture theatres and seminar rooms. Educators have a prime duty to protect their students' privacy. As more student services move online, these issues will become more pressing. As well as all these security concerns, colleges and universities have to deal with thousands of students and visitors logging onto systems via their own computers and running, well, whatever software they want, on unmanaged systems.
