HP BladeSystem Powers BT Vision, Tripling Data Center Capacity
Overview BT Vision (www.btvision.bt.com) offers on-demand television programs, film and sports over the Internet to broadband customers of BT (British Telecom). The company wanted to triple data center capacity to one million viewers without adding to power and space requirements. BT Vision replaced rackmounted servers, including Sun Fire V210 servers, with HP ProLiant BL460c G5 server blades, allowing BT Vision to increase viewer capacity while controlling costs.
