Overview As a complete retail financial services organization, Newcastle Permanent Building Society provides a genuine alternative to traditional banks for meeting the day-to-day needs of personal and business banking members. The company wanted to maximize performance and reliability for core Banking and ensure high availability to meet 24x7 ATM and Internet banking demands. The challenge was to consolidate IT systems for improved energy efficiency and simplified administration and further improve disaster recovery capabilities around the core banking system. The company deployed HP BladeSystem with Integrity and ProLiant server blades and upgraded to HP-UX 11i v3 operating environment.
