Hewlett-Packard (HP) Case Study: Diggers and Dealers
Overview Diggers and Dealers is one of the foremost mining conferences in the world. Held in the Western Australian mining town of Kalgoorlie the event attracts major players in the mining and minerals industry from around the world. In keeping with the status of the event, it also attracts media from around the globe including wire services such as Reuters and AAP, news print and mining industry journals. Following a networking failure that left the Diggers and Dealers Conference's IT team working round the clock to fix, the organizers turned to IT provider, IT Management Associates (ITMA) and networking provider, ProCurve Networking by HP to find a solution. The D&D team wanted to ensure that the network would have fail-safe reliability and that it would be able to manage the ever increasing need for bandwidth.
