Heartland Technology Solutions Implements AMD-Based Presentation Virtualization Solution to Reduce Costs Internally, Drive Revenue Externally

Overview Heartland Technology Solutions (HTS) is a regional technology solution provider headquartered in Harlan, Iowa. There are currently seven offices in five states with 80 employees, providing solutions in networking, document imaging, web hosting and design, electronic marketing, GPS, wireless, telephony and many other technologies. It was growing two-fold annually and its infrastructure and IT staff would soon be unable to support the increasing number of employees, locations and customers. HTS deployed a presentation virtualization solution based on Microsoft Windows Server Terminal Services running on AMD Opteron processor-based servers. The implementation was thriving in the HTS environment, so the company began selling the solution externally to its SMB customers as well.
