3Com VCX Solution Delivers Enterprise-Class VoIP Services to Small and Mid-Size Danish Companies
Overview To capitalize on this budding market, Danish Private Branch eXchange (PBX) supplier TelIP set out in November 2004 to offer IP-based PBX solutions. Located in Arhus, Denmark's second largest city, the telecommunications company sought to provide small and medium-sized companies with integrated voice and data services at prices they could afford. TelIP looked at many solutions. Initially, the company tried an open-source PBX based on the Asterisk operating system supported by Digium, based in the United States. It spent three months configuring, programming, and modifying the system without success. TelIP then asked Cisco to develop a VoIP solution it could partition for small enterprises, but Cisco, according to the TelIP, was unable to create it. 3Com, however, provided an effective implementation with the VCX IP Telephony Solution.
