Overview A member of the Jakarta Stock Exchange, PT Tirta Mahakam Resources (TMR) is a leading manufacturer of plywood and timber flooring. About 90% of its output-for which the raw materials are obtained from affiliated plantation companies-is exported to countries including Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, China, the United States and Canada. In early 2006, the company realized that to support business expansion and the related increase in headcount, adequately serve its customers, and protect itself against network-borne security threats, it needed to fortify its network and improve its telephony system. TMR turned to 3Com and its intrusion prevention and IP telephony technologies to address these challenges.
