AfriSam Boosts Performance, Cuts Costs and Simplifies Processes With SAP ERP on IBM System p
Overview AfriSam is one of the leading suppliers of cement, aggregates and ready-mix concrete in Africa. AfriSam wanted to reduce cost, cut paperwork and simplify business processes by allowing employees to manage their own time/attendance records directly into the central ERP system - a functionality that was not available with its current software. Existing systems were not able to support the necessary new applications and meet service level agreements. AfriSam upgraded to the SAP ERP 6.0 application and migrated from its existing HP hardware to IBM System p 570 servers. The company also implemented a SAN using IBM System Storage DS4800 systems and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager.
