Game Developer Accelerates E-Mail Search Process, Gains Storage With New Solution

Overview North Carolina - based Epic Games is a developer of best-selling and award-winning video games, including the Unreal and Gears of War series. Epic also develops and maintains the Unreal Engine, a popular cross-platform game development framework for PC and console game systems. Like many companies, Epic Games needs to store, manage, and search e-mail and other files to comply with company policy. When Epic Games deployed the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 e-mail messaging system, however, the company's previous e-mail archiving system was slow to release support. In September 2008, Epic Games implemented Symantec Enterprise Vault 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange, a faster, more stable system for searching, preserving, and previewing e-mail messages.
