Epicor Software Case Study: LaBarre Machine Works
Overview Founded during World War II, LaBarre Machine Works started out making taps and dies for the U.S. war effort. Today the company manufactures parts for the petrochemical industry, such as mechanical seals and hydraulic valves. Current owner and president Gary Landers first joined the company in 1980 as a janitor. Landers worked his way up through a variety of production positions and into sales, finally buying the company in 1985 from the founder. Information Job costing was the critical need that motivated LaBarre to choose Vista. Quoting a job without knowing its true costs is like giving money away. They wanted to know the true cost of manufacturing each part, in real-time, while it's on the floor rather than two weeks after it shipped.
