CSC Supports Groundbreaking Satellite Mission

Overview Following decades of work on major NASA efforts such as the Apollo program, they're playing a key role in the success of a small and relatively inexpensive next-generation satellite. The company wanted to work with the Naval Academy to design, build and launch a low-cost satellite that serves as a flexible platform for scientific experiments. The company deployed a Linux-based operating system and communications based on Internet protocols to construct a no-frills satellite. The MidSTAR-1 satellite has hosted several successful experiments, including the first application of nanotechnology in space.
