University of Cambridge Reduces the Paper Chase by Offering Online Services to Students and Faculty, With Help From ZXTM
Overview The Management Information Systems (MIS) support team at the University were tasked with finding a system that could not only route user access to the student records system (CamSIS) through multiple front-end web servers, but also provide load balancing resilience to support the new system. After researching possible options, three vendors were selected for closer investigation. Two of these were appliance-based solutions, and the third was Zeus' offering, the only pure software solution available. After using a 30-day trial version, the MIS team chose ZXTM (Zeus ExtensibleTraffic Manager) for its ease of installation and intuitive use. ZXTM manages an organization's application traffic: inspecting, transforming and routing requests as it load-balances them across the application infrastructure.
