CDC Respond Software Backs Office of Managed Care
Overview The Office of Managed Care Ombudsman (OMCO) helps Connecticut consumers who have health insurance provided by a Managed Care Organization (MCO). The office was created to promote and protect the interests of covered persons under MCO health plans in Connecticut. A major responsibility of the office involves educating consumers about their rights and how to advocate on their own behalf when they have a problem or concern about their MCO/HMO health plan. CDC Respond has enabled the OMCO to automate and manage all reported cases from initiation to completion. Investigation tasks are automatically assigned to the appropriate staff.
