Adaptive Scheduling Method for WiMAX Basestations
Overview This paper presents an adaptive scheduling and call admission control model for the revenue maximization. IEEE 802.16 standard defines the wireless broadband access network technology called WiMAX. It introduces several interesting advantages, and one of them is the support for QoS at the MAC level. For these purposes, the base station must allocate slots based on some algorithm. The paper propose a simple algorithm, which shares limited resources to different traffic flows in a fair way, and at the same time it maximizes the revenue of the service provider. Used algorithm is derived from the linear type of revenue target function, and closed form globally optimal formula is presented.
