Overview The ICT strategy of the East Manchester EAZ was to invest the grant in a new learning infrastructure with broadband Internet access and to dedicate a large proportion to wireless technology and its applications, such as wireless-enabled laptops and iPAQs. e-Learning Foundation Manager, East Manchester EAZ, was one of those chiefly responsible for the procurement and implementation of the ICT strategy within the zone. The company believed that wireless technology would be integral to the new infrastructure and key to the future success of the project due to its flexibility, cost-effectiveness, ability to improve the pupil-to-PC ratio and bring about anywhere, any time learning. After an intensive evaluation process, the Company deployed D-Link, as its products were seen as the most reliable and cost-competitive.
