Techout Partners With rPath and Amazon to Scale Its Monitoring Solution

Overview Techout.com, an internet performance engineering firm, helps companies achieve high availability, horizontal scalability and improved response times for mission-critical web-based business transactions and SOAP/REST Web Services. In the past, Techout.com outsourced virtual and physical instances of its Global Virtual Monitoring Appliance to multiple hosting vendors in order to replicate each customer's slightly different platforms. Today, the company uses a combination of Amazon Web Services and rPath technology to create, host and manage customer instances as Amazon Machine Images on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Techout.com also uses Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) to store individual, detailed probe results as .xml files and Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS) to support its alerting functionality.
