School District Reduces Tardiness Trend, Fosters Better Educational Environment

Overview Faced with a growing number of tardy students, school administrators in the Phoenix Union High School District asked for an innovative way to stem the tide. The district responded by deploying mobile devices to campus security guards and others so that they can scan student identification cards to check relevant information, enter the infraction, and quickly get students to where they need to be. Tardiness has dropped by up to 40 percent throughout the district's high schools, and administrators are able to promote a safer, more connected school environment for students.
