Roanoke County Public Schools' One-to-One Dell Latitude Notebook Initiative Has Evolved One Step at a Time
Overview Roanoke County Public Schools in southwestern Virginia has slowly implemented a one-to-one notebook computer initiative since 2001. Roanoke County Public Schools was looking for a technology partner that could help them slowly introduce technology effectively into the district including building a strong infrastructure to support the program. The district turned to Dell to help them start small and grow the program district-wide. In addition to offering standard, reliable Dell Latitude notebooks for students, Dell provides best practices expertise, guidance from other districts, and the hardware and know-how to establish a solid infrastructure with dedicated servers and wireless connectivity.
