S7 Migrates a Desktop-Based VB Application to Java-Based Multi-User Environment

Overview One of the largest suppliers of safes to the U.S. retail and restaurant communities, including many fortune 500 companies had developed touch-screen based software, written in Visual Basic 6, for controlling the safe operations like opening/closing doors, accepting bills, coin vending etc. Due to constant demand from a growing customer base, the client was forced to look for a platform that allowed their software to fit into any PoS system. S7 worked closely with the client on this project. During the course of the migration, the software at the labs was a mix of VB and Java and then progressively the VB code was replaced with the re-engineered Java version.
