Tablet PCs Bring a New World of Learning to Spain's Schools
Overview Aragon has become a benchmark in Europe for its use of new technologies in education. Since the successful completion of a pilot project using Tablet PCs at the Arino-Alloza Rural School, 70 percent of the autonomous community's state schools have also made these computers available to fifth- and sixth-year primary pupils. The region's goal is to have all pupils using Tablet PCs by the end of 2009 and to maintain Aragon's commitment to this innovative methodology by extending it to other levels, such as secondary schools or even teacher training colleges. Right from the outset of the project, the Aragon regional government received full support from Microsoft.
