Building the Business Case
Overview Business cases are arguments for or against making a specific decision based on economic considerations. They are tools for decision-making. A business case describes the economic consequences of a business decision and makes a recommendation. Well-crafted business cases have a number of essential ingredients, and although authors have flexibility, they must address a number of broad categories. This white paper presents the components of an effective business case and explains how to make a convincing argument. The more effectively each of these subjects is addressed, the better the business case will be.
