Telstra BigPond Upgrades ISP Infrastructure With Nominum CNS and Sun

Overview Nominum's network naming and addressing solutions power the world's largest always-on networks. Telstra BigPond wanted to consolidate network infrastructure to reduce costs and DNS identified as performance bottleneck in new network. There was a need to anticipate continued subscriber and traffic growth. As a solution the company deployed Nominum Foundation caching Name server. Nominum's Foundation servers include carrier-grade network naming (dNs) and addressing (dHcP) services. Running on sun, these provide the industry's fastest network services in support of always-on networks and are highly resistant to dramatic changes in network traffic conditions.
