Overview In the modern world, crime fighting is supported increasingly by IT solutions. To collate and access the data that tackles law breakers, police authorities rely on network applications. West Yorkshire Police needed to rethink its existing IT infrastructure to deliver new policing solutions, such as a storage-intensive vehicle recognition system and Crime, Case & Custody records management solution. The organisation chose Dell to overhaul its IT network, deploying a range of Dell PowerEdge servers supported by a Dell Storage Area Network (SAN) and tape library.
