Austrian Social Services Organization Makes a "New Start" With Information Sharing

Overview Offering social services to criminal offenders, Neustart - a partner of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Justice - aims to integrate offenders back into society through numerous support and treatment programs. Working closely with various justice departments, Neustart previously held client information on disparate Microsoft Access databases in each of its 36 offices. But the sharing of information was proving inefficient and time consuming and a new system was required. Neustart turned to Capgemini to develop a centralized system that would enable users to quickly and easily update client profiles, access files from different user groups, and share information with the appropriate justice and social departments. To do this, Capgemini used the Microsoft .NET Framework to create a browser-based solution.
