Overview Off late, Gigabit-Ethernet is rapidly deployed, for the requirement of providing high-speed access technology on service provider, easy and simple management with legacy Ethernet, and to be line-up from Ethernet to 10G Ethernet with standardization of IEEE. Furthermore, very high scaled MAN (Metro-Politian Network) has constructed on several country by Gigabit Ethernet and also made main streams of network connection technology, so called Metro-Ethernet. Gigabit-Ethernet switch to provide wire-speed classification and forwarding is required NP(Network Processor)s. Contemporary many NPs have diffserv-based intrinsic QoS technologies which are multi-field classification, DiffServ attributes marking, flow metering, flow measuring, packet dropping, packet scheduling, DSCP(DiffServ Code Point) remarking, etc.
