Clearing System Transmits Settlement Data to Trading Firms Via MQ Series Bridge

Overview Well-aged, proprietary mainframe technology on its clearing and settlement system made modification and maintenance cumbersome and expensive. Trading parties were not receiving trade data until well after the fact. Replacing of the mainframe-based clearing system with the Extensible Clearing System (ECS) from onExchange, powered by BEA WebLogic Server. The system integrates with MQ Series messaging to transmit timely settlement data to NYBOT's member firms. The new system provides many new advantages, including reduced risk for clearing members and lower overhead for NYBOT. It also enables NYBOT to introduce new trading products more quickly.
