Large Polish Bank Gains Advanced Public Key Infrastructure With New Server Solution
Overview One of the largest banks in Poland wanted to build a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to centralize the authentication of users, devices, and applications. The bank also wanted a mechanism to electronically sign and encrypt documents and e-mail messages. After a thorough evaluation, the bank deployed Windows Server 2008 - which offers built-in support for PKI - in a pilot environment, along with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007. The initial deployment was so successful that the bank plans to extend the solution throughout the organization by the end of 2008. The centralized authentication increases security by providing authorized access to both information and bank facilities. Improved efficiency helps accelerate decision making.
