Overview The University of Pittsburgh, founded in 1787, is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the United States. Students, faculty, staff, and student applicants needed secure, fast, organized, and user-friendly access to information from a variety of University resources. The my.pitt.edu portal was created using BEA AquaLogic User Interaction Suite. The portal is integrated with the University's Central Directory Service, which supplies the portal with information such as affiliation (student, faculty, staff, other), school, department, academic program, and other data that determine individual access rights.
