Understand the Autonomic Manager Concept

Overview The autonomic computing reference architecture lays out the framework for building an autonomic computing system. As its central theme, the architecture defines a control loop that handles events within an autonomic system. The control loop is manifested within an autonomic manager. This paper presents both a basic scenario of a working autonomic manager and a more detailed example using a simple thermostat application from the Emerging Technologies Toolkit along with examples of IBM software applications that have autonomic functionality.
