Packaging Company Reduces Cost and Complexity by Switching From Novell

Overview As one of the leading manufacturers of innovative packaging for liquid food products, Elopak has operations all over the world. In the past, most of its locations managed their own networks with their own IT staffs. Most of its 40 offices ran file and print and directory services on Novell NetWare, and used Windows NT and Windows Server for applications. This decentralized infrastructure was very labor-intensive to manage and made it difficult for the company to deploy solutions globally across the enterprise. To address these challenges, Elopak decided to outsource its infrastructure hosting and management to Unisys and to migrate from Novell to Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.
