Institute's Users Need Single Logon for Both UNIX and Windows
Overview As providers of specialized training in IT, electronics, etc., the Higher Institute of Electronics (ISEP) in Paris has been immersed for years in the UNIX culture. Therefore, all teams in charge of its IT units must be highly competent in that environment. Those teams dread the use of graphical tools in deploying Microsoft Windows - based servers. In response, ISEP implemented Windows Services for UNIX 3.5. Interix, the UNIX subsystem integrated in Windows Services for UNIX, facilitates the administration of Windows-based servers through telnet, ps, or kill function like any other UNIX daemon. Moreover, it requires less expertise with graphical Windows tools. ISEP appreciates the advantages of time, productivity, and cost efficiency.
