Case Study: 250 Schools Access Apps via Virtualisation Hub

Overview Warwickshire, a county in central England with a population of more than 500,000 people, is bridging the digital divide by providing essential computer programs to primary and secondary school students. In December 2007, Warwickshire County Council ICT Development Service (ICTDS) installed a solution based on the Windows Server® 2008 Enterprise operating system. Students and staff from more than 250 schools can now use the applications they need anytime, from anywhere with an Internet connection, through a central virtualisation hub. Using virtualised applications and servers has dramatically reduced the cost of onsite software, deployment, and maintenance, while increasing data security.
