An Intrusion Detection System for Security Protocol Traffic

Overview The Internet has emerged as a medium for wide-scale electronic communication involving financial transactions and other sensitive information. Encrypted exchanges between principals are widely used to ensure data security. Security protocols are rules that govern such encrypted exchanges. This paper describes a system for detecting intrusions on encrypted exchanges over public networks by recognizing the characteristics of security protocols and attacks on them.
