Adventures in Arrays: A Beginning Tutorial

Overview In SAS, an array is simply a way to refer to a group of variables in one observation with a single name. Think of an array as being an alias for the names of SAS variables on which one need to perform the same task. The variables can be existing variables, new variables or temporary data elements as long as they are the same type. This tutorial explores the many uses of an array by using examples involving vacation data, collected from ten fictitious vacation resorts.
