Juniper Networks Deep Inspection Firewall: Making Application-Level Attack Protection Pervasive
Overview As data-driven, application-layer attacks have proliferated in recent years, it has become increasingly clear that the existing solution set is not adequate to counter these threats in a cost-efficient manner. Implementing effective security to address the myriad of threats aimed at an organization's network is difficult without the right tools. The primary tool that most enterprises use to protect their networks is a Stateful inspection firewall. While effective at enforcing access policies and protecting against exploits at the network level, such as Denial of Service attacks, these solutions are not designed to protect against intrusions that target the application. It is these application-level attacks that are making headlines and costing enterprises millions of dollars in lost intellectual property, revenue and productivity.
