Configuring the Polycom ViewStation for Use With Cisco Secure PIX Firewall

Overview This paper guides through the configuration of a Cisco Secure PIX firewall in order to allow the use of a Polycom ViewStation video conferencing device. There are several different methods that can be used to accomplish the same level of functionality. The particular method used in the environment will be dependant upon several factors. These include the version of PIX OS installed, the version of PDM (Cisco PIX Device Manager) installed, available public IP addresses, bandwidth, network architecture, security policies and administrator preferences. PIX firewalls are generally configured either through the use of the Cisco Secure Access Server, Cisco PIX Device Manager through a Java enables web browser or through a command line interface.
