New Oil-Technology Becomes Real With Dell Cluster
Overview The technology company EMGS has developed a new technology that has made it possible to search and locate oil in places were oil companies previously have concluded that there is no oil to be found. The new method is based on electromagnetic signals. To transform electromagnetic signals into valuable information, powerful calculations are needed. To be able to perform the powerful electromagnetic signal calculations, EMGS chose to buy a new supercomputer from Dell - The SBL High Performance Computing Cluster, containing 530 Blade-type servers, each with two Intel Xeon processors and a storage capacity of 12 terabytes.
