BEA Systems Case Study: Q8 Italy

Overview Kuwait Petroleum International, under its 'Q8 sails' brand, refines and markets fuel, lubricants and other petroleum derivatives to a diverse customer base across Europe. Q8 needed to be able to respond quickly and efficiently to business change and lower operational and maintenance costs by setting up unified processes - both in Europe and in Italy - for order creation, customer management, billing and inventory management. Q8 selected SAP R/3 as the ERP system but its goal of migrating 90% of its legacy applications was proving hard to achieve. Q8 deployed an integration platform based on BEA WebLogic Integration and BEA WebLogic Server to draw together its fragmented systems, interfaces and processes and create an integrated application environment.
