Overview When Gol Airlines (Linhas Aereas S.A.) deployed Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 to automate the weekly collection and presentation of data for the Flight Timeline Board, the airline improved its decision-making agility with an easier-to-use profitability analysis tool. Gol is using the XML capabilities of Microsoft Office Excel 2003 and leveraging the XML feeds from its reservation system, Open Skies by Navitaire, to update the Flight Timeline Board every morning so users no longer work with three-day-old data. Instead, they have on-demand access to a dynamically populated, customized worksheet that depicts a schematic, chronological flight flowchart.
