Finance Solutions Group Transforms Financial Management
Overview To produce financial performance forecasts, the corporate forecast group at Microsoft Corporation relied on Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheets to aggregate financial data from each of its 100 subsidiaries and seven business groups. The forecast cycle is short, yet the process was time-consuming. In addition, to scale the system to meet the constantly changing needs at Microsoft, the group required significant support from IT. To address these growing concerns, the Finance Solutions Delivery group developed an innovative partnership with the finance IT and data management groups to design and deploy a new corporate forecasting solution based on Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 business intelligence software.
